Ryoko Yonekura to play Scarlett O'Hara in stage version of 'Gone With the Wind'

Ryoko Yonekaura, the most popular actor in Japan in this time, will play as Scarlett O’Hara, the main character in the movie, in the stage version of movie “Gone with the Wind”. The movie schedules in June next year at Imperial Theatre in Tokyo. There are many people interested about her taking a role in this movie. Moreover, producer Toho said the movie will play in the celebrating 100th anniversary day of Imperial Theater. A musical version of “Gone with the Wind” was staged once before in 2003, but next year version will be a drama with no music.
Yonekaura, who won a national beauty award in 1992, said she will be under great pressure because it is the first time for Yonekara to perform in these kinds of character.

In my opinion, Ryoko, who is 34 years old, is one of the best actresses of all times in Japan. Furthermore, she is outstanding on the stage. She is famous for her acting on Broadway musical. As I have mentioned her abilities above, she has many experienced on her actress career. For example, the movie name Love Revolution, Fushin no Toki and Warui Yatsura. Therefore, I believed she has enough potential to do well on this role.
